Cambodia Gambling Dens
Posted in Casino on 09/13/2019 09:25 pm by MarcThere is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the border from neighboring Thailand, in which casino wagering is not legal. Eight casinos are established in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect area, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income gained from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; however, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and though visas are apparently required to pass, there are means around this, as is true of many border crossings.
The first Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling den, features 150 slots and 60 table games. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of 150 slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international vacation and hotel building that features many comforts on top of the gambling den, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
